Heather will be traveling to South African Lesotho to participate in a cultural awareness tour and Habitat for Humanity for three weeks in August. For the first week she will be in Cape Town, South Africa, learning about the residual effects of apartheid and visiting HIV clinics to learn first-hand about the effects of HIV/AIDS on South African communities. During the final two weeks, she will be living in a village in Lesotho, working alongside a local family to build decent safe housing. Heather will provide a presentation of her trip next fall quarter, according to Dr. Teresa Morris, Chair, department of Social Work.
