James Fenelon published a co-authored article in Globalizations, completed his also co-authored pre-publication book draft Globalization and Indigenous Peoples, published two book reviews in Wicazo Sa Review and Great Plains Research, presented a major research paper at the American Sociological Association meetings in New York, and lectured at University of South Dakota, California State University Los Angeles, and University of California at Riverside.

Professor Fenelon served on the Committee on the Status of Racial and Ethnic Minorities, and the Race, Gender and Class book award Committee, of the American Sociological Association, and with the Closing the Racial Wealth Gap Convening by the Insight Center for Community Economic Development meeting at the Ford Foundation in New York City.
