Criminal Justice update

Christine Famega is the vice-president of the Western Society of Criminology.
Professor Famega also received a sub-contract from the University of Maryland to participate in an evaluation of “broken windows theory” in Redlands, Colton, and Fontana. The contract was approximately $119,000. The original grant was awarded by the National Institute of Justice.

Dale Sechrest received a grant from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for $80,000 to work with that agency on the Americorps project. This project provides criminal justice education opportunities for students pursuing careers in criminal justice.

Pam Schram  received a contract from the Riverside Probation Department for $100,000 per year for five years. The contract is for the evaluation of two juvenile crime reduction programs.

The Department completed the development of its on-line MA program and will begin courses in the fall.
