The 4th Annual Walk to Remember event, sponsored by the Institute for Child Development and Family Relations, will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at California State University, San Bernardino.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate the precious lives of babies gone too soon in the Inland Empire and beyond. The main event for the non-profit organization, Walk to Remember, Inland Empire, offers families enduring pregnancy and infant loss a place to share their baby with the public and meet families coping with the same journey of love and loss.
All proceeds from the event are used to further the work done by the Walk to Remember, IE throughout the year by reaching families in-need. They offer six areas of assistance from funding memory box programs at local hospitals and offering Sibling Comfort Packages to grieving older brothers and sisters, to offering end-of-life fee expense assistance and a perinatal palliative care program.
The remembrance ceremony and memorial walk will include the following components: a musical tribute, guest speaker, presentation of the Compassion Award, and reading of the babies' names. It is the hosts hope the day will bring peace and comfort to the many enduring the heartache of holding a baby in their heart, but not in their arms. Come join us as we walk for the steps these babies will never take.
